How I Got This Shot: The scene was constantly changing with the storm clouds moving through. I waited for an opening view to the trees below and the right balance of cloud cover to emphasize the storm. As I do with most images I used a tripod to compose this scene and to avoid camera shake with the slow shutter speed.

My friend David and I raced up to the Pounding Mill Overlook on the Parkway back on 10/11 to hopefully catch a sunrise… and after spending almost the whole previous day in the rain, it was SO nice to see the sun. Just before sunrise, Looking Glass Rock and the surrounding mountains were peaking through the layers of fog in the valley below.
