Location: Ridge Junction Overlook, Milepost 355 on the Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina
This was my first real sunrise on the Parkway. The sun appeared red at first, but seemed to break through the top of the clouds at the end.

Ridge Junction Overlook is on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina and Mount Mitchell State Park.
Photographer's Message
Shot this because it was next to Mount Mitchell Park. Didn’t know much about framing then, but used a tripod and timer on camera. The trees in the foreground really sell the image. Beautiful in fall as well.
