How I Got This Shot: It was bitterly cold, and the sky was covered in thick clouds, prematurely darkening the scene. I use a high ISO in order to maintain a fast shutter speed. Though I was on a monopod for stability, I wanted a fast shutter speed to freeze the quick movements of these feeding ducks. I took a knee to get a little lower. Even lower would’ve been better. I used a portrait (vertical) oriented frame so that I could show off more of the ice in front of the duck.
