Find peak color now at Graveyard Fields, always one of the first places for great color. Trails are a little muddy, but Lower Falls is really flowing! Check out Romantic Asheville’s guide to the Graveyard Fields Hike & Waterfalls.

How I Got This Shot: I found the brightest leaves and position by tripod downstream a bit. Luckily, clouds covered the sun for more even lighting. Since it’s a short hike from the Parkway parking area, Lower Falls is a great waterfall to visit often. You can safely reach the base and no life-threatening heroics are necessary to capture beautiful images.
