Lightpainting Milepost 296

by The Art of Victor Ellison

"Lightpainting Milepost 296" by Victor Ellison Fine Art Photography

Date Taken: 01/30/2014
Location: Milepost 296
Some trees painted with colored light under a starry sky along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Camera: Canon 6D
Lens: Rokinon 14mm f/2.8
Focal Length: 14mm
ISO: 3200
Shutter: 32
Aperture: 2.8
Filters: None
Exposure: Manual
How I Got This Shot: I thought these trees would make a great candidate for some light painting. My headlamp has a red light built into it, so I used that. You can use a regular flashlight if you’d like. Color gel inserts can be purchase from any camera shop. I used a long exposure to give me enough time to paint the tree and capture the stars.
