How I Got This Shot: My wife and I drove 65 miles up the Blue Ridge Parkway starting from Cherokee, NC. I took many photos along the way. I took very few photos on the way back since it was getting late and we had a long drive home after getting off the parkway again at Cherokee. I noticed that the sunset was looking very beautiful but did not want to stop due to time constraints. I passed up several overlooks when I first saw the sunbeams, then just couldn’t take it anymore and just had to stop. I am so glad I stopped now. It is one of my most popular photos. I did use a tripod and shutter release cable since the light was very low at this time.
