Fryingpan Mountain Tunnel

by Regularjoe Photography

"Fryingpan Mountain Tunnel" by Regularjoe Photography

Location: Fryingpan Mountain Tunnel
Flying through Fryingpan Mountain on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Camera: Nikon D7000
Lens: Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8
Focal Length: 70mm
ISO: 100
Shutter: 6 sec.
Aperture: f/22
Filters: none
Exposure: Manual
How I Got This Shot: I’ve always been captivated by the stonework of the tunnels on the Parkway. One recent evening, I took a short walk from a nearby overlook to the Fryingpan Tunnel to capture the autumn color against the stone. I stopped down to f/22 to set up for a long exposure that would add a dynamic sense of motion to the cars that passed by.
