Black Balsam Knob Area

by Bruce Siulinski Photographty

"Black Balsam Knob Area"by Bruce Siulinski Photography

Location: Black Balsam Knob area
Taken 10/13/13 from Black Balsam Road pull off looking down towards the Parkway with some fall color, clouds and fog.

Camera: Canon 5D MarkII
Lens: Canon 24-70 f2.8
Focal Length: 54mm
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/20
Aperture: f11
Filters: 4 stop graduated nuetral density
Exposure: manual
How I Got This Shot: The light was very tricky that morning. I spent lots of time traveling and waiting for the right light. Upon driving up Black Balsam road some sun was starting to break through. I quickly got set up and took several shots but this was the most dramatic with the lit up fog in the center and enough light for the foreground color. I also had a polarizer on. Shortly after heavy fog rolled in.
