Location: Grandfather Mountain
When I was a kid, my parents would point at the profile of Grandfather Mountain and say, “Do you see his face? There’s his nose! See his long beard?” To this day, whenever I see a long-range view of the Western North Carolina mountains, I look for the Grandfather’s face. This view is from Foscoe, just outside of Boone.
