About this Photograph
Date Taken: 04/14/2020
Location: near Parkway milepost 84
In three decades of shooting the Blue Ridge Parkway, I’ve never photographed Dutchman’s Breeches because they have always eluded me. Driving by a random cove, I stopped to investigate some white trillium, but spotted these just a few yards away.
Photographer's Message
I found this group of Dutchman's Breeches along a hillside just off the Parkway. Lingering moisture from an overnight shower provides some addition visual interest, and the arch of flowers made a nice vertical composition. Exposure: ISO 320, f/20, 1/30 second
