How I Got This Shot: So last night I decided that today would be my first day back taking sunrise shots as my busy schedule permits. I grabbed my gear and walked outside and felt a few drops of rain. So I thought, hmmm, and then I remembered that weather usually makes for great shots so I continued anyway, after all, I was up with gear in hand. As I reached the parkway, I noticed that the few drops were absent and that I would probably be in for a treat or not so much. I drove to Chestnut Cove Overlook, which, in the summer, is a little tricky for a unobstructed sunrise view because of the big tree there. But in the early Spring, it is barely budding. So I decided to include it in my shot for interest just above the line of color! Stay tuned for more great sunrises and don’t forget to stop by my page for daily image posts, tips and tricks and GIVEAWAY’s, in fact one is going on now and only a few more days left to enter to win an image of your choice!
I took 3 bracketed shots to make sure I captured all the dynamic range. But after I got back to my computer, I only wanted to hand blend a few parts of the under exposed shot into the color area. I wanted to maintain a natural effect so their was nothing else needed or done to this image other then standard RAW adjustments and very little now that I think about it!
