***Exciting announcement from Sarah and Joe, the owners of Blue Ridge Parkway Daily***
On October 14th, at a mountain cabin in the High Country, we got married! To celebrate, we’ve decided to introduce ourselves to you, the Blue Ridge Parkway Daily audience, and to share with you a little bit of our Blue Ridge love story.
Joe and I met five years ago and immediately realized that we had a love of the Blue Ridge Mountains in common. Our earliest dates were all on the Blue Ridge Parkway — we had picnics at Hebron Falls and the Cascades, stargazed at Beacon Heights, and hiked to the Moses Cone fire tower at twilight to watch the sun set and the city lights appear across the mountains.
In the five years that we’ve been together, we’ve fallen more deeply in love with the Parkway as we’ve fallen more deeply in love with each other. We’ve been at overlooks before dawn in freezing temperatures, watching photographers setting up to capture the colors that only seem to happen during a mountain sunrise. We’ve watched sunsets from summits and hiked back out by moonlight. We’ve given trail directions to visiting families, listened to generations-old Appalachian songs, waited in line to jump from the tops of waterfalls, and learned the names of flora & fauna from people who spoke with impossibly broad knowledge and decades-old passion. We run Blue Ridge Parkway Daily as a tribute to the mountains we have made our home.
It’s a privilege to work with so many talented photographers. It’s a privilege to share the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge with such a generous and enthusiastic audience. From our hearts to yours, we thank you.
